First of all, we are actually late on discussing and sharing about Acer Iconia Smart and its User Guide. This phone was released almost 2 year ago (August, 2013), yet we forget to share with you until this day. Acer Iconia Smart is 4.8 inches smartphone that runs on Android Gingerbread Operating System.

The 4.8″ display uses TFT capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 1024 pixels resolution. It’s equal to 236 ppi pixel density. There is no info whether the display has scratch resistant (protection) or not, but it’s supports Multitouch input method and along with the Android v2.3, the Iconia Smart is installed with Acer UI 4.2 for the User Interface.

If you want to restore you phone back to original factory condition, the tutorial to do this is available at page 51 of the User guide. There are three warning note that you must read before doing Hard Reset / Factory Reset. Apps Menu ~> Settings ~> Privacy ~> Factory data reset ~> Reset phone ~> Erase everything. That’s the step you must do to do Hard Reset.

Acer Iconia Smart Specifications

Iconia Smart uses single-core 1GHz Scorpion processor and Qualcomm MSM8255-1 Snapdragon chipset. For the GPU, the Adreno 205 is used along wit the 512MB ROM, 512MB RAM and 8GB internal storage memory. Not enough with 8GB storage? You can expand it with microSD card up to 32GB for external memory slot.

The rear side of the Iconia Smart is attached with 8 Megapixel Camera. On the rear side, you can also find the LED Flash for light assistant. This main 8MP camera is equipped with autofocus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, geo-tagging, and HD Video Recording 720p@30fps. This device has dual-camera, which the other one is attached as front facing camera. The front side of the camera uses 2 Megapixel Resolution.

Iconia smart works under GSM data network technology. It support for 2G and 3G network (GSM and UMTS): The GRPS, EDGE and also HSDPA. For the HSDPA, it can be used up to 14.4 Mbps and for the HSUPA it’s up to 5.76Mbps. There are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, UPnP, DLAN, Wi-Fi router portable hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0 or other connectivity features installed on the Iconia smart.

The device has 185 grams in its weight or about 6.53 ounces. It’s a touch-bar phone with the dimension size at 141.7 x 64.5 x 12.6 millimeter or about 5.58 x 2.54 x .54 in inches measurement. The 6.53 ounces is measured along with the Li-Po battery with 1500 mAh capacity installed in. The Phone supports for Java with Java MIDP emulator and has Stereo FM Radio with RDS.

One of the lack of User Manual created by Acer is that all the Manual named in similar name without any detail. And this problem also occurred on the Acer Iconia Smart User Manua. The Manual is Good, has a bookmark that make you easy to explore the content, and the explanation also clear and to the point
