By its name, we can determine that this smartphone which named as LG Optimus 2 is the second generation of the predecessor of LG Optimus series. We can also said that LG AS680 is the 2G of LG Optimus One. Personally I don’t know whether this Optimus 2 is a kind of Global Phone or available for specific Carrier (especially in US). All that we knew is that the Optimus 2 AS680 works using CDMA Technology with 800/1900Mhz frequency and support for EVDO Rev.A up to 3.1Mbps (download).
The Keys Features of the Optimus 2 are: 3.2 inches FTF Capacitive Touchscreen, Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating System by Google, 3.2 Megapixel rear Camera, 800Mhz Processor Speed and 1.500 mAh battery capacity. We’ll discuss each of the features in details later.
Attached on 4.44 x 2.32 x 0.47 inches of the body, the 3.2″ display capacitive touchscreen has HVGA resolution for 320 x 480 pixels, and with 16M colors. It also installed with Swipe virtual qwerty keyboard input output which no physical keyboard. That means the Optimus 2 is fully a touch bar form factory smartphone design. Of course, the common sensor to make this “touch display” works properly such as accelerometer sensor, proximity for auto turn of and ecompass also included.

LG Optimus 2 Manual AS680 Technical Specifications
Unfortunately, the Optimus 2 seems to be a “lower-middle” class phone. It can be judged by the internal memory that too “small” at 179MB (user capacity) although for the CPU it already armored with 800MHz processor speed. Furthermore this “limitlessness” of storage memory can be covered by the 2GB microSD card external memory (up to 32GB supports).
Gingerbread version of Android OS means that some of Google applications also installed (preloaded) in the Optimus 2 AS680. According to the datasheet specifications PDF (you can download the file on “PDF Download” tab section), the Android Market, Google Talk, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google Search, Android Browser, Google Voice Search are some of example of Google Apps available in the phone.
Let talk about the camera. One thing that you should know is, the fact that if you like to use the Video calling, there no such feature could be done by Optimus 2, due to there is no front facing camera on it. The only camera is the rear facing 3MP camera with autofocus, video recording, camera digital zoom up to 4x, image editor, face detection, and also geo-tagging supports.
The Video player installed on this AS680 can be used to play 3GP, MP4, WMV and 3G2. For the audio formats it supports AAC, MPEG-4, and MP3 formats (for Music Player). Bluetooth, 3.0 plus Enhanced Data rate, Wi-Fi connectivity for 802.11 b/g/n, and also microUSB v2.0 also available.
That are some of the features that you might need to know. Oh about the battery, the 1,500 mAh capacity of the battery (uses Li-Ion battery) seems to be able to be used up to 7 days (standby time) and up to 5 hours (on talking mode) though for the “real” it might lower than that.
