Nokia Lumia 1520 is the first smartphone-tablet (phablet) powered by Windows Phone 8 Operating System. The display size uses 6-inch diagonally measured with Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 6″ display of Lumia 1520 uses IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that support multi-touch and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 already. The ClearBlack display is also installed on the device.
With aspect ration 16:9 and 16M color depth, the 6 inches display also acquires high density pixel at 368 ppi (pixel density). Although it’s a touch-bar form factor device with only on-screen qwerty keyboard, but for photography purpose, the Lumia 1520 has dedicated camera key along with power and volume key (physical). There are Ambient Light sensor, accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity, Sensor, and Magnetometer ready to make the Lumia 1520 prefect as phablet.

In order to be able to insert the nano SIM on Lumia 1520 you need to know how to eject and pull out the card tray from the device. The figure below shown you how to use the eject tool such as paperclip or the like. Just push into the hole shown on the picture above (number 1) and the card holder would pop out automatically. Then all you need to do is place the nano SIM with gold-colored contact facing upwards, aligned properly with the card tray, and finally inserting and pushing back to its slot.
You can also (optional) add external microSD card on Lumia 1520 for expandable memory. It supports up to 64GB. The microSD memory card needs also to be placed to its card tray before able to be inserted to the Lumia 1520. The location of Memory card slot tray is side by side with nano SIM card tray as it shown on the figure below.
Same with the tutorial on inserting the SIM card, you need to eject the memory card tray with eject tool (paperclip), then place the microSD card with the gold-connector facing downwards. For the data network used by Lumia 1520, it will depend on the carrier of your provider and region but, it generally under GSM technology with 3G and 4G LTE supports. for US version Lumia 1520 uses RM-938 version with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 Mhz and LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 Mhz. For global version, it uses RM-937 series with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 Mhz, same frequency with RM 939 with WCDMA HSPA+ version. For LTE the RM937 works under 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 /2600 Mhz frequency.
Lumia 1520 powered by quad-core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor along side with Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU. It runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 Black with 32GB internal built-in memory and 2GB RAM. There is external slot for additional memory for up to 64GB supports microSD and microSDHC card. The SIM type uses nano-SIM card. Along with SkyDrive cloud storage, you can have free cloud storage for 7GB memory.
Another big thing installed on Lumia 1520 is that the main rear camera used by the phone is attached with 20 Megapixel autofocus Carl Zeiss optics camera. It has optical image stabilization that would be great on capturing sharp photo images. Even more, there is dual-LED flash that can be great on assisting the 20MP when shooting or capturing photo on dark condition area. The rear camera uses 1/2.5″ sensor size, with ability on dual capture, geo-tagging, face detection, and installed with PureView technology. It also can record Full HD 1080p@30fps video recording with stereo sound recording. The front camera uses 1.2MP resolution with up to 720p@30fps for video calling / recording.
You can use the Lumia 1520 talk time for up to 25 hours under 3G network and up to 27 hours under 2G network. For browsing activities under Wi-Fi you can have the time aloms 13.5 hours. It can be done because the Lumia 1520 is assembled with non-removable 3400mAh battery capacity. It’s Lithium ion battery (BV-4BW) with 3.8 V (voltage).
The Wi-Fi is installed with WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The USB uses microUSB 2.0. For Bluetooth, it’s Bluetooth version 4.0. The Lumia 1520 also able to be used as Wi-Fi portable hotspot. It has NFC either and is also installed with FM Radio receiver. The device has 162.8 mm x 85.4 mm x 8.7 mm dimension size with 209 grams weight. You can choose between for casing colors for Lumia 1520: White, Yellow, Black, and Red.
