Designed with touchbar / touch tablet form factor with WP OS, the Omnia W processor uses 1.4GHz Speed with Scorpion Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset and Adreno 205 GPU. It has 512MB RAM and built in 8GB internal memory. The screen uses Super AMOLED capacitive touchsceen at 3.7 inches diameter with about 252 pixel density (counting on 480 x 800 pixels resolution). How about scratch resistance? Don’t worry, the screen polished with Corning Gorilla Glass too.

On the Windows Phone OS, usually the factory data reset option can be accessed thru about phone. Just go to Settings > About > reset your phone > Yes > Yes to do master reset / hard reset. It is a helpful solution if you device has a fatal error and stop responding too frequently. Do not use it without a mind. Please use soft reset aka rebooting or restating the phone by pressing the power button for 14 seconds if you just face a common problem such as the touchscreen stop responding or applications got an error and make the Omnia W hang. Do the factory reset if the soft reset can not give you the solution for these problem. Backuping is needed to secure your data and files.

In the UK, the Omnia W can be obtained along with Orange carrier. It uses GSM data network technology support for 3G Band 900 / 2100 MHz frequency. GPRS and EDGE for Class 12 also supported. for the 3G HSDPA, along with the Orange, the phone can be used up to 14.4 Mbps and for the HSUPA up to 5.75Mbps. The applications from Orange provide such as TV d’Orange, wifi d’Orange, Orange Maps, Orange et Moi Lique also preloaded in this device.

The phone didn’t support for external extension memory card, the 8GB internal memory is the maximum storage you can have, so be wise on using it, especially if you want to record video HD 720p@30fps with the 5Megapixel camera (rear side). The 5MP camera also supported with LED Flash light, geo-tagging ability, image stabilizer and auto focus. There is also secondary VGA camera for self shot and video calling. The phone available only for black color (see the image above).

For the dimension size and the battery, the Omnia W created with 115.97 x 58.5 x 10.9 mm (Heigh x width x depth) and has about 115.3 grams weight with the battery. The battery can be used for the talk time up to 6 hours with 1500 mAh capacity.

The phone support MP3, AMR, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WAV format for Music Player, and MPEG4, WMV and H.263/H.264 for the Video Player. FM Radio available with RDS.

Due to the Omnia W didn’t not support for external microSD slot, the tutorial on the User Guide also not provide on how to insert the microSD card. Although, for manual inserting the SIM card you still need to open the back cover case and insert it to the card holder.
